"Why FinanceKid?"
Ever since I was 13 years old, I have been obsessed with finance, stock investing, real estate and M&A, reading hundreds of books on a broad range of subjects. Most of my friends would call me "the FinanceKid", a name that has stuck with me as I still have the same passion for learning more about business and finance today.
I initially started my career in the wealth management space and was an avid content creator for stock research sites like Seeking Alpha but after discovering the world of commercial banking, I have been obsessed with middle market private companies ever since as they play an important role in driving our economy, creating jobs and forging some amazing entrepreneurs.
I started my career in commercial banking back in 2018 and worked for a big Canadian Bank called Scotiabank. I realized very early on that there was little information available online to help students and professionals get ready for commercial banking interviews and show them how to succeed in their roles to better themselves. I started posting about my commercial banking experience on my YouTube channel and have since received feedback from thousands of students and professionals who have used my channel to secure a job or achieve success on the job. Hearing these success stories has motivated me to continue creating more content.
FinanceKid has since become the #1 online resource for commercial banking related topics including interview preparation and professional development. My goal is to continue creating videos and training tools to help young professionals become better commercial bankers which will help them better serve middle market companies to enable business owners to grow.
Today, I spend most of my time building my mergers & acquisitions (M&A) practice called Roblee Capital, you can visit our website here. Roblee Capital is based in Toronto, Ontario and is focused on serving lower mid-market companies up to $50MM in enterprise value through buy/sell M&A advisory services. Since 2017, I have financed or advised on 40+ M&A transactions supporting primarily private Canadian companies in sectors like building materials, printing, packaging, manufacturing, industrial services, electrical, HVAC, dental, metal fabrication, staffing and transportation among many others. I have also started to post content about middle market M&A on my YouTube channel which is another topic I would like to cover more of in the future as I build my M&A firm.
